Honey & Food

We love to see new growth here at the farm. After living in the desert for a decade it’s exciting to plant, grow, eat and share our own food.   Thankfully our property was well cared for and already had some established and mature plants including an orchard of pecan trees, 3 mature pear trees, an apple tree, some saplings of peach trees and a cherry tree, and a very large blueberry bush.  There are also wild blackberries scattered across the property.

We currently have 6 active hives. Our honey bees are wonderful pollinators here at the farm, and provide us with some of the most delicious honey we have ever tasted!! When we have enough, we sell the extra honey!

Our pecans have had wonderful harvests since we arrived in 2015. We mostly sell them in the shell, wholesale to local markets. However, we also offer them each year to the public at competitive prices. In 2019 we had our first “you-pick” event, opening our farm to the public to fill their own buckets with pecans at a discounted rate. We loved meeting people from our community, and especially enjoyed the teaching opportunity for all the children that visited. We hope to continue this event in the future.

Most of our fruit is processed here by us into jams, jellies and relishes. Pear relish has quickly become a favorite and sells out every year at the markets. We also can our own bread & butter pickles, zucchini relishes, among other local favorites.
